Door lights?

Which model has the built in door courtesy lights ? I have a sport and it only has a blank spot where it should go ... I would like to know if anyone knows where I can buy them from ... thank you

Update : Found this “How to” but it’s for a 9th gen ... I’m sure the OEM part numbers are different ... this video does give us an idea how difficult it will be to install these lights if there isn’t already a harness inside the door in the 10 Gen

There is a part 2 on YouTube as well -

Door courtesy lights....

Discussed here many times before on the 9th Gen sub-forum at DriveAccord:

http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/138-audio-electronics-lighting/419354-2016-lx-can-i-install-door-courtesy-lights.html

That thread has a VERY nice YouTube video outlining what needs to be done. I suspect it will be similar for 9th and 10th Gen Accords:

You will most likely need to splice existing wiring or obtain a "higher" trim model wiring harness to add door courtesy lights to your Sport model.

This is one of those Honda cost-cutting moves that just angers the heck out of people.

Thank you :) I believe I updated my original post about the same time you posted this. Thank you ... I have a 2.0 but I was wondering if anyone has tried to add these to the 10gen yet and or have a part number for the lens cover or harness. I’m guessing the touring has the courtesy lights but the rest don’t? It would be nice if Honda had the same harness in all models.

Touring has them. Im currently looking into replacing them LED bulbs.

I just purchased an interior LED kit and reverse lights from CorsoMotion. I found them here on the forum. They are adjustable LED’s for brightness. Hopefully will have them next week. I will post pics ASAP.
are you installing it yourself? did the led interior kit include the ambient lighting and door courtesy light? thanks!

Yes. The LED's Came in yesterday. I am totally happy with the outcome. The install is a breeze. It took me approximately 30min to install The Map, Vanity, Dome, Trunk, Door, and Back up lights. I took my time, and the only tool you need is a Small flathead screwdriver. The trick to removing the covers is, Look for the small indentions, and use your screwdriver to pry at that location. I didn't break or damage anything, so just take your time and have patients.
*** Im not sure what the ambient lighting kit is. If you're talking about the lighting in the footwell area, then the answer is No. That is a factory accessory option. I was told they are not worth the money, due to brightness issues.

Yes we provide small screw driver, and you can open the light clear cover without problem and you can adjust the brightness with the screw driver.
Easy installation! :)

The interior kit includes front map lights (pair), dome light and trunk
and optional 2 pairs of vanity lights (1 pair for each vanity light) and door lights.

Please let me know if you have more questions, have a nice weekend.

Thank you very much!

Puddle lights ?

Does anyone have them or are considering doing this ? I have them on my Legacy and love what it brings to the table. I didn’t know about them at the time of purchase, but before striking out to the dealer for them to be installed, wanted to know what you folks think please.

Courtesy lights can be added but it seems like a lot of work.

I noticed that the 1.5 Sport does not have courtesy lights on their front doors. I'm curious to see if anyone knows if it can be done or not.
Unfortunately, there's no electrical connection in the door for the courtesy lights even if you removed the filler plate and installed the courtesy lights.

I've actually seen someone replace the door courtesy lights with LEDs which effectively gave them puddle lights when the door was open (provided no lighting when the door was shut).

I was a little perturbed how effective this low-cost solution was after paying top dollar to have the puddle lights installed with my new Accord. It's a seriously good, cheap solution.

No. Just replace the door courtesy light with an LED replacement. The LED will be so bright you'll get a puddle light for nearly nothing. No batteries required. Check out one of the many threads with LED replacement. Corso Motion is one of the many on this site.

But you have a touring. Not all models have the courtesy lighting. What’s sad is Honda charges extra labor for adding similar items. Say you wanted the puddle lights and the courtesy lighting. Essentially they are ran to and from similar areas through the cabin with them having to take out half the dash. It just sucks they couldn’t combine labor for similar add ons.
