I got tired of putting commuting miles on my 2008 BMW 535I, So i picked up this 2001 Accord EX sedan, 5 speed ULEV vtec
Price: $1400 4 brand new falken tires, Drove it home, drives and runs great.

Needs:
A/C condenser + drier + recharge (can do myself)
Front bumper
Front hood
Rear bumper
Stock cat back exhaust (Skunk2 is too loud for me and the wife)
Need driver seat or recover/replace lower section?
Driver side mirror (its loose and folds back on its own)
Last thing needs to be cleaned, and cleaned, and oh yeah cleaned

Owner couldn’t figure out why the check engine light was on. I brought my code reader and it was (pre-cat Oxygen sensor) Once I got it home and on my lift, i figured out that 2 of the 4 wires on the oxygen sensor were broke (rubbing against trans bracket) I removed the sensor and re soldered the wires. Boom no more CEL.

I need to sell this Skunk2 cat back exhaust, sounds great but wife hates it. Good thing is the car has DC sports header (CARB) and AEM cold air (also CARB)

And some pictures.......

Seems like a nice little car for $1400. That front bumper though...I've never seen damage to the paint like that before! Hopefully you can find a new one easily though. Shouldn't be too difficult. It's good that the car is running well overall. I'd throw a pair of pleather seat covers over the front seats and be done with it, unless you can find a light gray (I think? It's hard to tell from the photos) bottom half or whole driver's seat to yank out of another one. Unless you can find some nice matching material and someone in your household knows their way around a sewing machine. You can take the covers right off and stitch the new material right over it. You can also find the rear "H" emblem on eBay for not much, I'd be ordering one of those right away. You're lucky you have the Accord and EX emblems; mine had neither of those when I got it.

Are you cool with those tail lights or are you looking to replace those too? I'd be weary about "tail lights must reflect red" laws if they apply, they seem to be a little too "clear" IMO. But, that's just me :)

Congrats on the new ride!

Thanks Enne, yeah I plan to keep the tail lights, but im going to wrap them in red glossy tail light tint. I got my eyes open for people parting cars out. hope to score the rest of the parts I need.

Outside of the things you need, you scored a clean ride!

I'm sure you can score a trade + cash on the CAT-back you have for an OEM one. It's basically just the hangars and 2 or 3 bolts that hold it together at the catalytic converter in order to take it off.

I do have a question about the shifter. Is the boot missing as well?

yeah I went to my local pick A part and found a complete stock EX muffler from a 2002 accord $38.00, bolted right up. So now i just need to sell the Skunk2 cat back.
Today i also decided to try my hand tinting the Euro tail lights using a transparent red 3M film. What do you guys think?

It definitely looks better having the lights tinted

+1. Much better look. In fact, I'd say hold off on getting OEM tail lights and see how well the tint holds up.

The rear bumper cover dent can probably be pounded out. Take the cover off, set it in the sun for a while to warm up the vinyl, then hit it with a rubber mallet or something similar.

You know, I was thinking about this. But instead of setting it in the sun, run about half gallon of boiling water over it. It *should* pop back or at least be easier to massage back into place.

I like the tail lights better that way as well!

I have a body panel heat gun. I might warm it up and try to pop it out from the back side.

I have heard if you heat up a panel, either with a heat gun or boiling water, then spray it with compressed air (the kind you get in a can), the rapid temperature change will pop the dent out, at least a little. Wouldn't hurt trying. Not sure if that's only for plastic panels or not...

The hot / cold trick is more for metal.

For the plastic bumper, pull it off (it's too fast and easy not to) heat it up a bit and pop it out. It won't be perfect but it will look a lot better.

Durr, I meant metal panels, not plastic. lol

That thing looks to be in great condition structurally. The tails look much better w/ the tint. Looks like you scored a good ride for a great price.
