Jim, I had to quote Ben's pictures. Get yours looking like that and I'll quote those pictures too...

Ill have to check them out
Sounds worth it if you can get 6 to 8 uses out of about 20 bucks. That like 3 bucks a use. Not bad
Thanks
Go on Autogeek and check out the Nanoskin wash mitt and sponge. Do some research and pick up one of them instead, all the benefits of a clay bar but endlessly reusable (years vs. a few uses) and not ruined when you drop it on the ground like a clay bar.

Sweet. So its a wash mitt with a roughness to remove everything.
50 bucks and last alot longer. Do you have one or has anyone on here used one and like the results?

Is there a AT filter instruction in the or "How TO" in one of the forum sections?
I don't know if there's a how to. They talk about it a few pages into the atf change thread that you can find in the so you bought a 7th gen thread.

It's nothing crazy though. Idk if it is different for v6, but for the i4 it's just bolted down and there's two little hose clamps on either side.

Before ;

*discerning eyes may notice my growing collection which now includes, two Asian grills, Koni Yellow's, TEIN S-Tech's, my wrapped header, a spare set of OEM headlights for the retro build, and a set of OEM hybrid tails.

Who cares about the car parts, i just want that beer!! ..aaand maybe the asian grilles

Well my eyes see that nice little tool set. I am amazed at how much I have got done considering my collection comes down to a jack and stands. I have a sri, tsx manifold, catback, front and rear tls sway bars, and front and rear rotors/pads.

I really need to invest in some sockets asap.

replaced front and rear brake pad/rotors which was my first major maintenance done by myself. Looking forward to changing my transmission fluid/filter and pressure switches this month.

If anyone is interested I got the NAPA ultra premium pads and rotors and so far it was worth every penny. Also glad my car doesn't vibrate every time i brake on the freeway now lol.
My old pads were almost worn flat.

bobbo's in Vancouver...those mates don't get the cold, winter depression like the rest of Canadians, eh?! It's like 60-80ËšF and sunny there the majority of the year LOL (I was shocked when I found that out!)

Oil change

So I started my oil change ,'drained the oil and now I can't remove the filter. I tried 2 types of tools and no dice. Any tips on removing the filter, it's some type of a fram oil filter

Don't know if you have taken off the pass front wheel yet... Should be able to get good leverage reaching right above the axle from the pass side. Put a towel on it and crank it.

Yessir - I'm on the west coast brother, we get the same weather as Seattle with slightly less rain. It might snow twice a year for a few hours, then it rains and it's gone.

Kudos on using "mates" and "eh" in the same sentence mocking me ... *shakes first.

I've got the Fram remover, and a pair of vice grip oil filter clamps... Just remember your big boy pants son.

Lots of patience, remove the passenger wheel. I've found one of the rubber strap removers is about as good as it gets if you can get enough room to turn it. My mom's pilot was the worst, I ended up using a screwdriver but even that didn't work and I tore apart the metal, I removed all of the metal, used vice grips on the collar that threads onto the engine block, grabbed the vice grips with another wrench for extra torque and finally it came off. If I can find the picture later I'll post it. If it's not budging, before you get to that stage take it to the place that did your last oil change and make them loosen it.

Cleaned out garage at 0500 on Saturday so I could fit him in there... fun.
Oil change, spark plugs, air filter, cabin air filter, and removed front bumper for headlight/fog replacements, and tab repair. Will be changing MT and rad fluid this weekend as well.

We'll see what else I find time for if I can find some spare change in my couch...

All of you are a bad influence! :lmao:

That last picture is your compliance bushing. I'm sure you can find several threads discussing the how often these things fail. Yours doesn't look too bad yet, but it is deteriorating. You should start researching/planning for a replacement. Either a completely new lower a-arm, or you can get just the bushings and have them pressed out/in at a shop with a hydraulic press. Good luck.

Atta boy !!! I've run into more than my fair share of those "smaller than your average filter" filters, and they're always a PITA to remove ... but I've never meet one that a filter strap and some good old elbow grease (and a bit of "three beer determination") couldn't bust loose.

BOT - I placed my order today on a pair of turn signal bulb sockets, so *fingers crossed, my OEM HAH tails will be going in tomorrow !!!
