Well, I did it, I finally got a BMW I've wanted for a while now. Traded in my '21 Sport 2.0T on a 2019 330i xDrive with 21k on the odometer. I really love almost everything about it. The ride is nicer, the cabin is much quieter and the technology is a bit more advanced than my Accord. Unfortunately for me, I thought I could live with the smaller interior dimensions of the BMW, and it's almost causing me to go look for a '22 Sport 2.0T again. The BMW is really small on the inside and some of the ergonomics are compromised as a result. The cup holders are right in front of the front console pocket, so the pocket is basically useless. The 12v socket is wedged between the cup holders making it difficult to get bottles in and out. Little things I didn't notice before buying it. The math certainly won't work out to my favor and I know this going in, but the Accord was such a great vehicle that I do miss it quite a bit. I don't really have a question as I'm really just writing down my thoughts to rationalize my decisions.
Interesting. So I have a 9th Gen 2015 Accord V6. I have a BMW 330e xDrive on order.
I have driven a lot of cars in my quest for a replacement to my ‘15 accord.
I don’t want to go 10th Gen Accord because the 10th Gen is even bigger than the 9th which is already a bit big for me (I’ve had 10th gens as loaners from the dealer).
I was set on a Civic SI and then an Integra but they seemed a drop too small and underpowered compared to what I’m used to.
My wife has a ‘21 TLX which has the perfect interior dimensions, however, the outside is just too big for me. Having driven both the FWD and SH-AWD TLX’s, I can’t go back to FWD. Have you tried a TLX, with SH-AWD? That just may be the happy medium between the Accord 2.0T and the BMW 330ix (it has the Tech you are looking for as long as you opt for the Tech package, we had to add an aftermarket wireless Apple CarPlay adapter though) and it drives/handles more like the BMW.
I spent 2 days in a ‘18 330e overseas that I got as a rental. I really enjoyed it. I had not ever considered a BMW before.
The next best was a Jetta GLI which also had perfect dimensions (for me) inside and out. I felt that the 36k the dealers were asking was excessive besides the fact that it didn’t feel as powerful as it is on paper.
The LSD on the SI/Integra/GLI, made a big difference and I would consider them nearly as good as AWD though.
Overall I kept coming back to the BMW and so I ordered a ‘22. Some have taken delivery of ‘23 models, yet I’m still waiting, waiting and waiting. My pre-Fed Rate Increase APR is locked for 90 days and expiring soon. If they manage to deliver the car by then I might just take it.
