So on the new 2016 Accords, the center console is a glossy piano black finish. I can image the likelihood of this finish getting scratched is very high. Any 'high gloss' plastic will show dust and scratches easily. My question is - is there an aftermarket interior trim kit that will match the grey/walnut wood finish of the front console? I have checked on-line and have found various wood finishes but not a similar match to the factory finish. Does anyone know if one exists? (I have a 2016 Touring sedan in black with black leather). How do you feel about a black carbon fiber trim kit instead for the center console? Will this look okay?? Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Matte plastic of the 2013-2015 scratches easily too. But I don't have one scratch on mine. Just pay attention to what you are doing and I don't know how you would scratch it, other than using improper media to clean it.

Otherwise, if you like carbon-fiber, how about vinyl wrapping it with carbon-fiber?

If you're willing to do the work you could pull the console and plasti-dip it in black gloss. Cheaper than vinyl and just as removable. You can actually even pull of a carbon fiber look with PD as well.

You might want to find someone that does hydro dipping, they should be able to match your other parts.

Enough vinyl to do every smooth surface in an Accord interior costs maybe $20.
(Not that I would recommend doing that much...)

Has anyone seen any replacement trim that has the same Carbon Fiber weave and finish as the Sport dash trim? I would think that Honda would have carried it throughout the interior or sell it as an accessory but I just know that the piano finish won't last long on my 16' Sport. I really don't want to have the existing pieces wrapped.

Mine already has one unexplained scratch in. Not my favorite piece of the car.

The chrome trip around the cup holders is easily scratched as well.

I am also looking for something similar. The only thing I dislike about the car is the glossy easily scratched trim piece. Carbon fiber to match the dash would be ideal. Would I be better off to wrap it in vinyl or plasti-dip in carbon fiber. Long-term would like to be able to easily remove it when I sell the car.

I put a pair of bright yellow foam beer can holders in the center console on my '16 Accord Coupe. Now I can drop my sunglasses, keys, whatever, directly into them and not risk scratching the glossy black trim by putting things directly on the console.

Couple of bucks each at Michael's, replaceable, and enough color choices to suit anyone's tastes. And the color adds a bit of contrast to the otherwise all black interior.

Vinyl is the way to go. I did some interior trim pieces in red brushed aluminum and couldn't be more satisfied with the outcome.

I really liked the gloss black trim when I first bought the car but after a year I think it was the worst design decision Honda could have made on this car. It scratches very easily and you can't buff the scratches out without generating even more scratches.

Mine is scratching the most between the shifter and the cubby hole. I plan on cutting a piece of mylar and applying it in that area.

Use a soft microfiber cloth and non ammonia glass cleaner. Sprayway makes the best spraycan foam type glass cleaner there is. Then put a light coat of wax on it. Pledge even works great too.
