I was thinking of doing my hood/roof/trunk lid in vinyl. I know a few people who have vinyl cutters/do decals (mostly for sprint cars) and I'm sure I could get a roll for cheaper than retail. I have plenty of experience applying vinyl to sprint cars so I'm sure a nice flat roof without rivets and bends would be a breeze.

My Accord is Flamenco Black Pearl...what color do y'all think would look good? Just gloss black to match the paint or something more goofy like carbon fiber print, silver etc.? My black hubcaps have carbon fiber print on them.

I'm looking to replace the hood and I was thinking if I couldn't get a black hood I'd try for a silver one and just leave it. I don't think that would look too bad, considering the condition of the rest of the car. I just don't want it to look like a ricer. Got too many of those around the city I live in already, I don't want to join that club. I think if I just keep the outside trim stock (no spoilers or kits) I can avoid that.

EDIT: I'm having my dad contact his decal guy for a quote on carbon fiber print and regular vinyl. I found an eBay seller who does rolls of 102" x 60" for $46 so I'll see if I can get it cheaper from the decal guy. If I can get some before the weekend I'll buy it and do the roof and trunk, and the hood if I can get a new hood at a salvage yard (not putting vinyl over a damaged panel).

I too am debating on the vinyl gloss black vinyl roof. In the future I want to also do all the exterior chrome black vinyl. My accord is white. how hard is it to do yourself? I was quoted 180 for all my chrome to be wrapped

That doesn't sound bad for a quote. It's not "hard" to put vinyl on stuff really, unless it's got tight bends in it (like interior surfaces for example), but I'd pay to have someone do it for me because of the time and effort it takes to do it. If you've never done it before and you only want your chrome and roof done you might as well get it professionally done. I'm doing my roof but I've applied vinyl before and it's pretty much a square, not much to mess up.

Just got my car wrapped by Kryptonite Designs in Dallas, TX by Kinsey (who did a great job), and they're currently running a special for $99 for the roof and a little bit more to get the chrome bars wrapped in front of the car...

Wow thats a great price!! I wish I can get that price here in NYC.

Anyone know of a place that's reasonable?

Here in Western NY I got a quote for carbon weave on my hood for $300+ sales tax.
Please no ricer comments, I have stone chips from the previous owner and am quoting vinyl rather than a respray.

That's more than I want to really spend.

dparky...

You mention Kinsey wrapped yours. I see you're in Dallas. I have a San Marino Red Coupe up here in Prosper and am looking to do the roof gloss black.

Can you put me in touch??

Got a few pics of my car over the weekend outdoors although they're not great...

I like it, looks like no moonroof?

I also like the blackout grille bars, it makes the H float. Plastidip? I might have to do this in the spring.

Good job blacking out your license, no point in showing a traceable item to you all over the world.

Ha ya, no moon roof, tis only an LX. I debated blacking out the chrome smile around the grill too but ended up deciding against it.

big fan of the white with black roof. $99 is also a sweet price for a quick no moonroof/no antenna job. How the heck do they make money? I do wraps and I'd charge at least $200.
