Just got a V6 coupe and this is my first nice car. In the past I have purchased cheap cars straight out for around $3000 cash. Thanks to a career transition I was able to pick up a nice car and want to take care of it and just have a nice comfortable driving experience.

So far I am enjoying:

A magnetic vent phone holder. It uses a strong magnet on the back of the phone or placed between the case and the phone and boy does that thing stick. I just throw it on there when I get in the car and grab it with one hand on the way out. No unclipping or fussing with mounts.
Scosche Magnetic Vent Mount for Mobile Devices (... : Target

Weathertech floormats
Car Mats, Floor Mats, Cargo Liners, Side Window Deflectors | WeatherTech.com

Some nice microfiber clothes for wiping things down. Mostly dust

Windshield shade to protect the dash and keep the temps down

and a small candle in the rear cup holder for subtle scent in the car.

What do you all use and enjoy having in the car?

A charger........

Welcome. Glad you got to afford a nicer ride. Read through and you'll find lots of good info on how to take good care of it.

I have a multi port USB charger. Got to have it with multiple people in a car on a trip. Must haves in the car: Mag Light, air compressor, fold up shovel (seasonal)

I don't have a 9th gen, but it's kind of a general question so I'll share mine :)

Having a full spare in the trunk rather than that tiny donut the car came with gives me some peace of mind. Jumpers, jack, tire iron, spare fuses, a spare set of head light bulbs, etc. I should get a first aid kit too.

I keep all my detailing things in the trunk as well. Also makes washing/cleaning the car easier and more likely for me to do it since I have everything right there. I have a little bottle of "new car" scented spray that I totally love. Smells soooo nice.

A leash in case I come across a loose dog or other pet on/near the road and in danger of being hit.

An OBDII scanner in the glove box (very useful; I recommend everyone who drives a car have one in the vehicle)

I used to keep a 3' long length of steel pipe behind the driver's seat of my minivan...you know..in the event I had to hit something/someone with a metal pipe.

So far a 32gig usb thumb stick for MP3s and OEM rubber floor mats. You can get the OEM mats through Majestic Honda for $90. I never get them at dealerships due to the usually hefty mark-up.

Bluetooth, nav and SiriusXM. I travel light. In the trunk are a tool kit and sun shield. In the glovebox, owners manual, dust cloth, flashlight and in the winter, gloves. Center console, radar detector and box cutter.

My #1 accessory would be the garmin gps that allows custom routes to be designed on the computer then uploaded to it for guidance. Without it, my many road trips would be far more challenging. A cell phone is no substitute for this as it doesn't work without data and custom routes are a pain.

Google maps lets you download an area so you can use it without data but I doubt you can create a custom route.

^^Google offline maps only cover a small area. My road trips are anywhere from 400-3000 miles. Don't get me wrong, I think googlemaps are great in an urban area. You can check real time traffic/accidents. The automated routing is pretty good too. A PND is something i've had for the last 8 years. Best accessory I could ever get for the motorbike too.

Gotcha. I saw the feature while playing around with the app but I never tried it.

Have you tried Nokia HERE maps? Its an offline GPS app that works pretty well in my opinion. Might be a good backup option. I bought a cheap $70 prepaid phone (zmax 2 5.5 inch screen) and just leave it in the car for all GPS, mp3s, dash cam usage and anything else an android phone can do.

cheers,
moe.

I'm going to go a little off topic with features that seem to be must haves

Adaptive Cruise Control - Around the SF Bay Area, I find regular cruise control pretty much a waste of time. I'm not going to manually increase and decrease, increase and decrease the speed to keep from hitting car in front on freeway. I won't buy a new car that doesn't have ACC.

Brake Hold feature (with electronic parking brake) - I've seen Honda HR-V info blips that tout the convenience of Brake Hold and how it can make even stop and go driving easier. In the Bay Area, I'll take that all week long. Need to test drive and see if it rings true.

Does anyone make aftermarket Blind Spot Detection? That's a good feature!

I've seen an aftermarket BSD system but don't remember the site where I saw it. It wasn't bad for the price (about $150). I'm going to look around and, if I find, it I'll post the link.

One thing it NEEDS is the auto tilt-down passenger mirror when shifted into reverse...screw the camera lol!
