Hi All,

I am working with my local dealer to reserve an 18' 2.0 Touring in Platinum White. I know for sure that I would like the following accessories:

-Rear USB ports
-All weather floor mats
-Trunk Tray

Does anyone have any thoughts on other accessories? For those who have already purchased, are there accessories you purchased that you loved or thought were a waste? For those planning on purchasing, what accessories, if any, do you plan on purchasing?

I don't plan on getting the heated steering wheel as I live in Florida. Some of lighting options such as the puddle lights, extra interior lighting, and illuminated door sills seem kind of cool. However, I don't know if those are just gimmicky.

Any thoughts would be welcome and appreciated!

Man - this is so subjective. You should probably figure out what you want - and why. Customizing your car is so....personal.

For me, I got

Interior Accessories
  • Interior Illumination - to get the cool look I've seen in other cars. And chase away monsters hiding in the foot wells.
  • Door Sill Trim-Illuminated - same as above
  • Steering Wheel-Heated - my hands get cold
  • Trunk Tray (not carpet) - I carry dirt, plants and other crap in my trunk. Preserve the carpet (and resale value).
Exterior Accessories
  • Decklid Spoiler - take a little A7 out of the Accord backside
  • Grille Accent-Black Chrome - Fixes the fugly 'Chrome Unibrow'
  • Rear Trim Accent-Black Chrome - adds matching chrome between the exhaust finishers
  • Splash Guard Set - It's a nod to my beloved CRX with splash guards
Electrical Accessories
  • Puddle Light - Saw this on a Mustang I rented, love this! Want to see the crap I'm stepping in here in the dreary, dark PNW
Already Come With Touring
Accessories you don't need to order since they come with the Touring Trim
  • Automatic Dimming (rear view) Mirror w/homelink
  • Wireless Phone Charger
  • Parking Sensors

My WTF List
Love the Honda Concierge service for $260/year? Get these while you're at it!
  • All-Season Floor Mats - Sure, for the Pilot or CR-V - not a Touring sedan!
  • Ashtray, Cupholder-style - Pay Honda for an ashtray - really?
  • First-Aid Kit - (see ashtray)
  • Fender Emblem - Make your Accord look like a Mini Cooper (yay!)
  • Pinstriping - On a Camaro, yeah...
  • Pulse (Safer Braking Technology) - Triggering epileptic fits in drivers behind you

GMC Pickup Accessories
Want your sexy new Accord to look ghetto? Go with these delicious add-ons!
  • Moonroof Visor
  • Door Visors
  • Wheel Well Guards
  • Underbody Spoiler (side) - Genuine GMC running boards for your Accord - except they break when you step on them.

Your Call
The leftovers - some good, some bad.
  1. Body side molding - Not pretty, but limits the door dings. Worth their weight in gold in cities.
  2. Door Edge Guards - Your contribution to the door ding-free society
  3. Rear Bumper Applique or Protector - Protect your trunk when loading/unloading
  4. Engine Block Heater - Live in Canada, a cold garage? Warm your fluids before startup!
  5. USB Charger - Kids in the back need to charge their stuff? How often is this REALLY gonna happen? Add the fugly USB charging caps and find out!
  6. Trunk Drawer, Tray, Mat, Cargo Hook, Cargo Net, Cargo Organizer with D-Ring - If these appeal to you, you're probably the dude who bought the Honda Pilot Tent

Why you call the moonroof visor a ghetto accessory, dog? Without it the wind noise would be unbearable and I couldn't find my car in a parking lot.

Welcome @jcglos!

Perhaps in Canada (I'm not sure). But certainly not true for U.S. Touring trims.

In the U.S., these are an add-on accessory - and different between the
  • 2.5A Model - for EX, EX-L, EX-L, NAVI and Touring (ports are underneath the rear center console vents) and
  • 2.1A Model - for LX and Sport (which are in the rear console without vents and add a small pocket)

If you're up north from me, you may be right!

WeatherTech floor mats are better than OEM all-season imo. Are all season mats needed in FL?
I live about 10 minutes from the beach, so sand gets tracked inside pretty regularly. I have all season mats in my current accord, and it makes cleaning so much easier.

Great first post @mmeads - and an excellent visual walkthrough of most of the exterior accessories. Looks a lot like what I'm picking up in a couple days (but with the spoiler and the chrome-look wheels vs. the black).

Mini Cooper, come on!

Get the weathertech mats for sure. And a sun visor. Door edge guards are handy. Maybe throw in a French tickler just for good measure. Otherwise, really all about your own preferences.

Be Nice MD Accord. :nerd

Thanks for posting pictures of your Accord @campverdefela!

Nice-looking car. Is that a BLUE or BLACK Sport?

Hope you're enjoying it!

Feel free to starts a new post with a review and more pictures. Would like to see more and hear your opinion on your new ride. Cheers!

Nice! I'd be very interested to see how the spoiler looks on against the Black paint once you take delivery. Another post showed the spoiler installed on a Platinum White model and I can't tell if I like the black accent along the back edge of the spoiler. On a black car though, I'm hoping it comes off as classy (almost German?).
