***UPDATE***

Dealer had the car for 3 days and they worked with American Honda to diagnose the issue. "Brake switch was adjusted" was the fix according to them. It was some sort of sensitivity setting within the brake switch (not the pedal) that they felt was affecting the CMBS. I have also had an issue that some have had here with the front parking sensors activating while I'm at a traffic light, etc and someone pulls up next to me. They felt this same fix applies to that issue, too.

Just got the car back today so we'll see how it goes. American Honda assigned a case manager to me (funny that her name was Khia) and she was very communicative, always kept me in the loop, and arranged for a rental car, so I'm very pleased at how they handled all of this.

This happened to me today. Driving down the highway with AAC on, and the car slightly braked strangely for no reason. There was nobody in front of me. A few seconds later the warning came on and AAC was disabled. After restarting the car, it seems fine. If it happens again, I will be visiting the dealership.

I also had an issue a couple of weeks ago where the AAC couldn't "see" any other vehicles, but there was no warning. A car merged into the highway in front of me and the icon where the vehicle normally goes to indicate it sees another car just remained an outline. Luckily I was paying attention and no harm was done, but it stayed that way until I turned the car off and back on.

Interesting to hear it happen with the ACC on. I also had this warning twice within the first 2-3 weeks of owning the car (under 400 miles on the engine), while accelerating from a stop. I took pictures of it, too, turned off the car and it seemed fine when I restarted. Haven't had any issues since.

Happened for a 3rd time today, took delivery of the car on 2/7, 3100 miles on car. 65f day, overcast, dry calm conditions. 75mph ACC on, no one else around, dash lights up CMBS blah blah See Dealer.

Odd thing, my center head unit screen then indicated 2 CMBS messages were available. When I pulled over to shut it off and restart (love this on a new 30k+ car), the messages were not available. This was before I shut it off.

It has been to the dealer once for this with ... say it with me 'cannot replicate issue at this time, no error codes recorded'.

I'll make an appt for later in the week at least it's getting recorded somewhere.

Had this happen to me twice in the last 3 days in clear weather. Both times I had ACC in use, and both times I felt a similar braking situation. One time there was a car in front of me, and I changed lanes at which point the error came up. Today, i was in my lane with ACC engaged, felt a slight braking, and a few seconds later, the ACC turned off and the error message came on. Both times, shutting off the car and restarting it clears the error.

When it happened today, I pulled over in a parking lot a few miles from home, shut off the engine, and restarted. I noticed the error message was still present within the tachometer screen for a half-second before it disappeared.

I have about 2200 miles on my car so far.

I had this message twice, once the sensor was covered with snow and gunk, the second time there were big leaves covering it up. The dealer seemed clueless on how to deal with this, it is like they have had no training in the service dept. on how to deal with these new systems.

Had this same thing happen only once when using ACC... Just so happen I was driving to the dealer to get the exhaust covers replaced. After turning the car on/off the code cleared and has yet to return. The dealer didn't find anything wrong. *knock on wood

I have owned a 2016 Maxima SL which comes with a similar [ or same ] warning system. This problem which is in the manual occurs when the radar is obstructed by heavy rain, snow, ice or fog. It is temporarily blinded.
Except of course when it is 85f and not a cloud in the sky it's even more of an irritant.

I believe it's already been mentioned but I recommend you guys report these incidents to your dealership, and also websites like True Delta, which collect repairs/problems with cars into a database for future car owners to research common issues with specific makes/models/years.

I’ve had this happen quite often. Just passed the 8,600 mile mark. The first time it happened a Police Officer was using a radar gun on me and I brushed it off as interference. It happens a couple of times a week now and it’s all on very clear days. The most recent time I was in stop and go traffic and ACC just shut off with the stated error. There was nothing loose that even could have hit the sensor as I was going 10 mph and watching the road in front of me.

I'm having similar problems with my 2018 Touring Accord - 6500 miles. It has occurred about 6 times in the last 2 weeks under normal traffic, speed, and weather conditions. The warning goes away when the car is shut off. The dealer isn't finding anything - one time I pulled in with the warning still up and the car running. They claim the car is safely shutting the system down due to some condition, but this is ridiculous! I opened up a problem report with Honda Customer Service, but haven't heard anything back yet.

Also got this the other day. Im 1100 miles in, i was cruising about 50mph with ACC & LKAS and i just happened to notice that i was slowing down. I looked at the dash and had the error. When i got to a stop sign i took a picture and drove home. Figured i was going to see it again the next day and was going to take it to the dealer but it appears restarting the car clears it. This was Wednesday, I drove Thurs & today havent seen it again.

I got this thread bookmarked just in case

Mine actually happened the same day i bought the car, as i was driving home all the warning lights suddenly came on. on a bright sunny afternoon in California. after restarting my car, it kinda stopped, but then on a cruise around town in it later that same day all 7 warning lights came on and would never stop even after the car had been parked overnight, so i took it back to the dealership next day and today I was told the figured out the problem, that it was the VSA module that was faulty (apparently on a brand new car, first day off the lot) and they will fix it and i should have it by Friday 06/08/2018 hopefully. This is my first ever honda car (i used to drive a Mercedes C300, which was top notch in reliability) and it's basically messing up first day on the job.

Add my Sport 2.0T 10AT with 600 miles to the "Collision Mitigation Braking System Problem. See Your Dealer" error message list. It popped up this evening while corning slowly in traffic on a clear day. The radar unit was not obstructed. This was the only error message that appeared and as others have reported, the Adaptive Cruise Control wouldn't set. At the next stop, I restarted the car and the error disappeared and was fine for the rest of the drive home. Hopefully, it won't happen again, but if it happened once it'll probably happen again. At least I'm not alone. :)

Anyone else see this yet? 2018 EX-L 1.5. Was just just cruising along with lane keep and ACC on.

I received the same message today. I purchased the car last week and I’ve only got 1000 miles on the car. Let me know if the dealerships are figuring out what the problem really is. It seems mixed.
